Welcome!

We would like to thank you for your interest in the 19th Annual Greece Buccaneers Soccer Tournament and Festival! The Greece Buccaneers Tournament is a GREAT way to start your soccer season. Last year over 100 teams celebrated another season of soccer by participating in our 18th annual tournament.

Rochester is at the heart of the soccer community in western New York. Our central location has helped our tournament draw teams from all over Western New York, Eastern New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Canada. Rochester is also the home of the Rochester Raging Rhinos. Attending a Rhinos game is a great experience, and has become a tradition for many teams that attend our tournament.

As in the past, this year's tournament will focus on Travel Team competition. Every effort will be made to bracket teams according to their level of play in order to provide the most exciting and competitive tournament experience possible. Premier teams are welcome!

Include applicable registration fee. Online applications will be held on a waiting list until the registration check is received. Mailed applications without application fee will be placed in a hold status. Faxed applications will not be accepted.

Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and will be closed on April 15th, 2009. The tournament reserves the right to rank teams for proper competition level. Teams withdrawing after acceptance will forfeit their fee.

NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE
Notices of acceptance will be mailed approximately April 30, 2010. If not accepted, a refund check will be included with the letter.

TEAM REGISTRATION
Team registration will take place on Friday evening, May 21, 2010 between the hours of 4 and 9 PM at the Tournament Headquarters Tent at Grace & Truth SportsPark. All team credentials will be checked at that time. ‘Late’ registration can occur on Saturday morning at Tournament Headquarters Tent no later than 9:00AM.

During Friday evening's registration, there is also a coaches reception. All coaches and assistants are welcome.

May 21-23, 2010

AGE DIVISIONS – BOYS & GIRLS

The age groups for both boys and girls will range from U8-U19. Division size will be based on number of entries. Where possible, age groups will provide multiple divisions based on team strength.



 

The tournament reserves the right to merge divisions if enough teams are not available to form a single division.

LOCATION
Greece, NY - a suburb of Rochester, NY - Grace & Truth Sports Park (Tournament Headquarters)
Centrally located in the heart of Western New York, 90 minutes from Buffalo, 90 Minutes from Syracuse, and 2 1/2 hours from Binghamton.

Grace & Truth SportsPark is a family park. Therefore, it is a drug, alcohol, tobacco, and pet free park.

Other amazing fields that will be used are Total Sports Experience (TSE) and Aquinas Institute Of Rochester.

PAETEC Park is a new professional soccer stadium, lighted and with an Astroplay artificial surface.

Aquinas Institute has a new athletic complex with 2,000-seats, a lighted stadium with Astroplay artificial surface

FORMAT
A round-robin style of play is used. Brackets will be based on strength of play. Every attempt will be made to ensure no team has to play three games in one day.

• U8, U9, and U10 will play 7 v 7, including a keeper, on a reduced size field ( 50 x 70 yard).
• U11 and U12 will play 9 v 9, including a keeper
• All others will play 11 v 11, on a full size field.

ROSTER

• Maximum roster size for U8 - U10 is 14 players.
• Maximum roster size U11 - U19 is 18 players.

GAMES*

Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games and in most cases, 4 games. Some games will be played Friday evening, however, most will be played on Saturday and Sunday. Unless requested otherwise, all out of town teams will play Saturday and Sunday only.

*The Greece Buccaneers reserve the right to seed the brackets at their discretion. However, every effort will be made to organize a balanced seeding of teams for optimal competition.

AWARDS

• Individual Champions Trophies are given out in the U11 and older age divisions.
• All participants in the U8, U9, and U10 age divisions are winners and all players will receive trophies.
